FOOD

How much food is there on your food tours?

A lot! 11+ tastings to be specific. Over the course of our tours you will stop at multiple locations. Other food tours describe their selections as tastings because it is only that… tastes of larger portions.

Hollanda Tours will make sure to give you more, give you choices on what to try, and not force you to share with anyone.

This is what helps us stand apart and provide you with the highest value of any food tour in Amsterdam.

Do you cater for vegetarians, vegans, gluten free and/or kosher diets?

Many of our food options are vegetarian friendly, and when they are not we will provide you with a suitable alternative. However it is not always possible to serve vegan, gluten free or kosher food at many of the stops.

Please notify us of your dietary restrictions upon booking and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. If you have food allergies or intolerances and decide to try tastings in addition to those that have been specially catered for you, please be aware that you do so at your own risk and the company assumes no responsibility.

Is there alcohol?

Beer and wine are part of the morning and afternoon tours, and as such will be served at a certain point. A Gin & Jenever Tasting will be provided during the afternoon tour.

Do feel free to ask for a soft drink alternative if you prefer not to drink alcohol. For children, soft drink alternatives will be available.

What beverages are served on your tours?

In addition to wine, water is served during the cheese tasting. However, we strongly recommend you bring a bottle of water with you on your food tour to help cleanse your palette when desired, especially during the hot summer months.

What types of cuisine will be featured on the tour?

We will have food consisting of 3 Sweet, 2 Savory, 1 Cheese, 1 Fish types and 3-4 drinks.

Are there any signature dishes or must-try items on the tour?

All the dishes on the tour were chosen by Richard because they are excellent choices to try during your visit to Amsterdam.

Are there opportunities to learn about food preparation or cooking techniques?

The food tour does is not a cooking class so there will be not intense amount of detail regarding the preparation or cooking of the food. The guide will cover generalities but not mention for example, specific knife cutting techniques etc.
